Scott Lieberman - A Truly Helpful Neighbor

If you are not one of the many whom have attempted to start your own business, then you may not appreciate this story. However if you ARE one of these people I know you are aware of the hardship and horror involved in the process. As if all the hard tasks, money invested, and insane amount of time involved weren’t bad enough, the people you encounter on the way up are anything but pleasant. Thus, to all those striving entrepreneurs, I hope this story instills your faith in people again despite all of the seemingly evil villans that you may have had to cross paths with up til now. Also I hope this story reiterates the golden universal rule of “treat others the way you want to be treated” because you never know who you will be in need of later on in life.

Being that the town I grew up in on Long Island was relatively small, everyone pretty much knew everyone else. This applied especially to the neighbors on my street. The next door neighbor’s of my family became very close friends and had a son around my brother’s age. We moved to this town in 1983 and were raised there from that point on. Because my brother and the son next door, Scott, were 9 +years older than me I never really knew Scott. Yet, three months ago my family’s neighbors knew I were searching for an accountant, amongst other things, and called their son for me because he is a CPA. Long story longer, not only did he help me organize my financials and explain the business process for free, he went ABOVE AND BEYOND solely because I was the nice little neighbor girl way back when and he wanted to see my succeed. He connected me with his other clients, incorporated my business, helped with taxes and found out a significant amount of information on the industry for me! I have no idea how I lucked out to have such a wonderful neighbor who is so kind hearted and willing to take time out of his busy schedule just to see how I’d doing over a cup of coffee and offer me any other service i would possibly need now or later. He really is one of the kindest most sincere people on the planet and I definitely give him the mother teresa award. So thank you Scott, you really have no idea how much I appreciate you!
