Paul Groslouis (aka Dr. Ghostlouis)

I have this friend… Well actually, he is one of my best friends. His name is Paul Groslouis, but he will almost always introduce himself as one of two things. He will either be the “41 year old virgin” or “Dr. Ghostlouis, the ghost-hunter.” While some people will raise an eyebrow at such an introduction, I just laugh. This is one of the many things that make him a special and unique person.

Whenever a friend is sad Paul always trys to cheer them up by telling a funny joke or by making an ass of himself. Some of the other adults out there might not understand this 41 year old guy that likes to hang out with a group of people ranging from the age of 18-27. While this may seem unusual, it’s not. You see, Paul is a kid at heart. He has the mind and spirit of a teenager. I know that at times it really bothers him that physically he is this adult, but yet he is not able to relate to other adults and that inside he feels like a kid, but he is not able to be accepted because he is a man on the outside. He has a hard time dealing with this and sometimes he gets discouraged or depressed. But I’m glad that God made Paul the way he did.

I think that sometimes as we get older we tend to forget what it was like to be that fun-spirited kid again. We never have to forget because Paul will always have the heart of a child and be a gentle reminder to all who come into contact with him that no matter how serious life gets, it’s still nice to take a break and have a good laugh every now and then.
