Kathy Dickens - My Mum

My mum Kathy is the most wonderful, caring person I know.  Mum is always there for me through thick and thin.  She is my confidante, car, babysitter, and beauty advisor - and the list is goes on!

I would say that my Mum had a pretty tough life from young having various ailments, being sent away to convalesce when very young, losing both parents relatively early in her life, losing babies, ending up with wrong men (including my father) and then losing her soulmate when she finally found him to cancer at the age of only 47!

Despite all this, she always has a kind word or a smile and is always willing to help others.  She would give you her last penny if you needed it.
Over the past six months, however, our roles seem to have changed slightly and I find myself acting like the parent and caring for Mum more.  I am glad that I have this opportunity to show her how much I love her and how grateful I am to her.  She brought me up to be kind and considerate to others and polite and helpful at all times.  I hope I am as good a role model to my children.

So I would just like to say Thank You Mum; You are my hero and someone I shall look up to forever.
