Jeanne Morgan - Supporter Of A Great Cause

September 2003 was one of the most life altering months of my life. I had surgery for breast cancer, began chemotherapy and lost my business and my life as I knew it. I finished treatment in April 2004 and decided to do something special for someone special in my life.

My doctor of 17 years, Malka M. Benoni is the most amazing doctor I have ever met. She inspired me to get through my cancer and do something to give back to others. I started a company called Doctor B’s Teas to raise money for breast cancer causes and I worked so hard to get it off the ground. Anyway, I am writing to you about another very special person who gave me the jump I needed to keep my company going even in the face of pain, lack of funding and business obstacles. A local newspaper did a story on me about my tea company and the first call I received from a local resident was from Jeanne Morgan. She told me she wanted to help me get my company going and would like to carry my teas. We have been friends ever since. I am 49 and Jeanne is 80.

Well, about 6 months ago Jeanne hit some hard times and was struggling to keep her little vitamin shop open so I did a fundraiser for her to help move her to a cheaper rental location and to help her pay her bills easier.  The community pulled together and we raised $900.00 and at least moved her to a smaller place. She was struggling with her son’s undiagnosed illness and she was trying to keep her business going while supporting him every way she could. Her friends and church helped her a lot.  A month ago her beloved son passed away and now she is really struggling and thinking about closing her business of 25 years. She loves her work and all the people in the community but with stores nearby selling cheaper vitamins and supplements she is having trouble competing.  I absolutely adore this woman and she has been such an inspiration for me and I hope that I have helped her in some small way. She always says I love you to me whenever I call her.
