James Cates

I met James online in some chat forum full of rednecks and zygotes. I won’t say too much about him because he is a very private person and I respect that. I have been suffering with PTSD and an anxiety disorder for quite some time now and he helped me live through a lot of very trying times. He was there for me when no one else would listen and seems to have some sort of unexplainable deep inner strength. He is also one of the most forgiving human beings I have ever known. No matter what bigotry or nonsense I spew out in the heat of the moment, when I feel like taking someone else’s life or my own, when my blind seething hatred and need to lash out at everyone and everything around me gets the best of me, he has managed to show me the irrationality and ignorance in these behaviors.  As much as I hate to admit that he is right, I know that he is one of the greatest voices of reason in my life right now. It seems no matter how deeply hurtful things I have said have been, he can do better than our alleged Lord and Savior Himself, and turn the other cheek. He has shown me that there is room for forgiveness in this world, that everything is not as dirty and bleak as it once seemed. As much as he denies it, he is the reason I am alive today. I just want to say thank you, James, thank you so very much.
