Girish - A person who changed my life

Except for the past couple of years of my professional life, I could never get job in IT without anyone’s reference.  This story is about a person who was initially a stranger but later on became a blessing for me.

I was doing my part time Oracle certification with my job. Since both of us used to live in the same suburban city, we both traveled by bus. I was part of a group of 7-8 people group who used to travel together. Sometimes this guy would travel with us. Due to a lack of time, I used to do my studies on the bus or train as I traveled 2-3 hours a day. He saw me reading books and he, too, was working at Oracle. I never even thought in dreams that he would become a friend, especially a friend who would help me. He initiated conversation first and then it turned into everyday discussion about IT stuff. 

Soon he started recognizing me. I had a lot of trouble those days since I was working with a company where I automated a lot manual tasks and put my job in danger.  It sounds geeky but yes I am.... Fortunately before the company could let me kick he called me and I always had talent to get in. For a few weeks we worked together and traveled together. Since I took this job, it has changed my life.

I did not want to bore you people and hence I’ll end the story now. But to summarize, it might be just a good deed for him, but for me it was all I ever desired. I never see life beyond what I am today and hence things look big to me even though it might be obvious to most. I never ever wrote anything which can be accessed publicly, but this is just to let people never forget that a little help from you could change someone’s life. So no matter who you are, keep helping people in your regular life.
