Chris - “The Chicken’s Pretty Good”
Chris and I were on the subway and the name of someone I had loved very much and who had broken my heart came up. It was someone I hadn’t really thought or spoken of in some time, and as memories of him came back, I grew sad.
Chris just stood there and said, I could hug you right now, you look so sad. And later as we parted ways, I got home to a text message from him that said “I hear the chicken’s pretty good...yeah.” Which he had sent me just to cheer me up. Because it was funny. And I felt better.
